Ye, just over two years after his Hitler-praising Alex Jones interview, has again expressed his “love” of the Nazi Germany dictator whose fascist regime killed millions of Jews in the Holocaust.
Amid a barrage of X updates across Thursday night and Friday morning, the artist formerly known as Kanye West first focused on Diddy, who is currently behind bars ahead of a trafficking and racketeering trial that’s set to begin in May. Eventually, however, Ye started to veer elsewhere in his tweets, ultimately sharing a number of additional antisemitic remarks, not to mention repeated uses of the f-slur and a not-elaborated-on “Fuck Virgil” that’s seemingly in reference to the late Virgil Abloh.
“I love Hitler,” Ye wrote in one X update. In others, he referred to himself as “a Nazi” and “a racist.” He also referenced Elon Musk’s inauguration salute, saying that the X owner “stole my Nazi swag.”
Also making a return appearance during Ye’s slew of X updates were his past comments about slavery.
“Slavery is a choice,” Ye wrote, echoing a widely criticized statement he made in a 2018 TMZ interview.
Elsewhere, Ye asserted that he will “never” apologize for his antisemitic remarks. As you’ll recall, an apology, written in Hebrew, was previously shared to Ye’s Instagram back in December 2023. In it, Ye said, in part, “I sincerely apologize to the Jewish community for any unintended outburst caused by my words or actions.” Speculation immediately followed, however, regarding whether the statement had been penned with the assistance of A.I.
Ye later shared an oft-referenced photo of himself wearing a “Say No to Nazis” t-shirt when he was younger, writing, “I used to be woke too.”
Given the Muskness of X in its current form, it’s unlikely any of these posts will result in any actual action being taken, a la banning or otherwise restricting Ye’s account. A few of the tweets appeared to have been removed as of this writing due to their violation of the platform’s rules against hateful conduct, though several of the more glaring ones, i.e. Ye’s “I love Hitler” and “I’m a Nazi” updates, remained live.
To be clear, there is nothing about Hitler or the Nazi Party worth even an inkling of admiration. This should go without saying, but if recent years have taught us anything, it’s that the things we once assumed could go without being said must now be said over and over again in a futile-feeling effort to drown out the pervasive toxicity that has enveloped social media in the 2020s.
