The autopsy report for Young Scooter has been released as questions regarding the circumstances of his death continue to circulate.
Per USA TODAY, the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office has released the autopsy results for Scooter, who died age 39 on March 28. According to the Office of the Fulton County Medical Examiner, the cause of death has been listed as “penetrating injury of the right thigh,” with the manner of death listed as an accident.
“Mr. Bailey sustained a penetrating injury of his right thigh that created marked blood loss,” the autopsy results read. “This injury was not a gunshot wound. Mr. Bailey injured himself on organic (wooden) fencing material and/or woody debris after vaulting at least one fence.” In a statement on the Atlanta Police Department’s website, authorities added, “While we understand that many people are saddened by his passing, it is important to recognize that Atlanta police officers neither discharged their firearms nor used any force against Mr. Bailey.”
Following Scooter’s death, 31-year-old Demetria Spence was arrested and charged with transmitting a false public alarm. In the call, she told authorities that she saw a man “beating” a naked woman who he later “dragged” back into a house. She also told authorities that there was a shooting and named an address.
The call led to police to turn up to investigate, which prompted Scooter to flee the scene and hop a fence. Police said that he injured himself on a wooden piece while fleeing and was pronounced dead after being taken to a nearby hospital. Spence later changed her story, per TMZ. She said she made the call to “protect” herself.
Scooter’s long-time friend Young Thug disputed the autopsy report and claimed he “got shot,” something which Future appeared to echo in a similar post on social media. Scooter’s son, Kenneth Edward Rashaad Bailey Jr., also questioned the circumstances surrounding the death and appeared to blame the Atlanta Police Department.
